Macpherson Energy and our partner DTE Energy Services were proud to host the 2015 National Bioenergy Day at the Mt. Poso Cogeneration Plant. We invited Kern County stakeholders, including local elected officials, members of the community and representatives from water agencies to tour Mt. Poso and learn more the plant’s about responsible water management efforts.
Mt. Poso represents Macpherson’s effort to maximize existing resources in an efficient, responsible and green way. The centerpiece of our renewable efforts, Mt. Poso was a coal plant that we retrofitted in 2011 to be a biomass fueled plant, turning it into a source of green power. The plant uses recycled water from our oil operations, along with local agricultural waste.
Thank you to all who attended Bioenergy Day at Mt. Poso, as we continue to promote biomass as part of the valley’s energy future. We’re proud of this green facility and our ongoing efforts to educate the community and other energy producers about the benefits of biomass.
